Darling Floral Bouquet Ice cream Mold fair condition.  This is a hinged pewter ice cream mold.  The shape/pattern is of a floral bouquet.  Ice cream molds were created in France for individual desserts in the early 1800's.  Schall & Co. began making them in New York City in 1854.  The mold number is 860 and visible on the front.  This is the S&Co pattern number.  The pattern is very detailed on both sides however there is a small crack at the top and while the hinge is perfect there is a slight gap in the mold where the edge meets. This mold measures about 5 1/4" x 2.5".

We used this mold to cast another mold to make beeswax ornaments so the small crack and gap didn't matter.
